Temporary Portfolio Assignments

The Mohawk Council of Kahnawake wishes to inform the community that further to the announcement that Ratsenhaienhs Harry Rice is on a medical leave, the following temporary portfolio assignments are in effect as of Tuesday, February 13, 2024. 

  • Athletic Commissions: Ietsenhaienhs Tonya Perron
  • Education Portfolio: Ietsenhaienhs Jessica Lazare
  • Social Supports & Development: Ratsenhaienhs Iohahí:io Delisle
  • Land Allotments: Ratsenhaienhs Cody Diabo (current Portfolio Lead on Lands & Territories) 
  • Heritage: Ietsenhaienhs Jessica Lazare (current lead on Heritage but taking on additional responsibilities)

Ratsenhaienhs Rice is expected to return on Monday, March 25, 2024.

office closure

  • No Cardboard drop-offs
  • Transfer Depot will be closed
  • Recycling, compost, and cardboard pickup service will continue as usual

Regular office hours will resume on Tuesday, June 23rd, at 8:30am.

Labor Day office closure

The Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke wishes to inform the community that all its administrative offices will be closed for Rotiio’ténion Raonenhnísera, Labor Day on Monday, September 7th.

Service Schedule for Labor Day:

  • Recycling & Compost Collection: Will continue as usual – Please place bins curbside by 7am
  • Transfer Depot: CLOSED for the day
  • Town Garage: CLOSED – All cardboard drop-offs postponed to Tuesday, September 8th

 

All essential services will remain in operation. Regular business hours will resume on Tuesday, September 8th, at 8:30am.
