The Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke (MCK) would like to advise the community that it has approved a traffic study for R-132 and R-207.

The study will be conducted by the Ministère des Transports du Québec (MTQ) and carried out in two (2) phases aimed at improving safety on the Territory.

The first phase, R-132 at the Kahnawà:ke Survival School intersection, will take place during the week of June 3, 2024, from 9am until 2pm and 7pm until 9pm. In case of poor weather, the study will take place the week of June 8, 2024. Monitoring equipment will be installed by the MTQ this week.

The second phase of the study will focus on R-207 the week of July 1, 2024. Monitoring equipment will be installed at several intersections along R-207 to determine the placement of additional traffic signalization devices to improve safety.

Once the study has been completed, the MTQ will provide its recommendations to the MCK for evaluation.
