REMINDER – Kahnawà:ke Justice Commission seeks new member

The Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke (MCK) would like to remind the community that the Kahnawà:ke Justice Commission (“the Commission”) is seeking one (1) community representative to serve as a member on the Commission.

The Commission meets monthly, with an honorarium provided as per the Kahnawà:ke Justice Commission Honorarium Policy. Eligibility requirements can be found in the Terms of Reference.

Interested persons should submit a letter of intent by Wednesday, August 14, 2024, to:

A signed privacy waiver for a criminal background check will be required.

The Kahnawà:ke Justice Commission consists of three (3) voting members, with one (1) non-voting member (the Commissioner of Justice) serving as the Chairperson. The Commission’s mandate is to provide oversight to Justice Services by monitoring its activities in matters concerning the administration of the Kahnawà:ke Justice System and to also ensure that the integrity of the Kahnawà:ke Justice System is protected and defended.

  • Regular household recycling and compost pick-up service will continue as normal. Please have recycling curbside by 7am
  • Transfer Depot will be closed
  • No cardboard drop-offs
  • All essential services remain in operation

Regular business hours will resume on Tuesday, May 20th, at 8:30am.
