The Justice Services Division of the Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke is inviting the community to a Victims of Crime Workshop, hosted by Ionkwatahónhsate Victims Services. The session, titled “Compensation for Victims of Crime (IVAC),” will be held on Wednesday, January 22nd, from 9am to 11am at the Golden Age Club.
Presented by France Simon and Geneviève Croteau, representatives of l’indemnisation des victimes d’actes criminels (IVAC), the session is made possible through funding from Kahnawake Shakotiia’takehnhas Community Services.
Topics to be covered include:
- The Act to assist persons who are victims of criminal offences and to facilitate their recovery (LAPVIC)
- The guiding principles of support
- How services for victims operate
