OCR culvert repair and ditch clearing

The Capital Unit of the Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke (MCK) wishes to inform the community that roadwork on the Old Chateauguay Road (OCR) involving the replacement of damaged culverts and the clearing of roadside ditches will begin tomorrow, Tuesday, June 3rd, and will continue through Friday, June 6th. Following the completion of these tasks, the road will be resurfaced with new asphalt.

Residents in the area should expect temporary inconveniences, including limited access to driveways, increased dust and noise from construction equipment, and intermittent road closures. Proper road signage will be installed to clearly mark the construction zone.

All private properties affected by the work, such as driveways, walkways, hedges, and fences, will be restored or replaced before the project concludes.

The MCK appreciates the community’s patience and cooperation during this time. For more information, please contact the Technical Services Office at 450-635-1016.

Additionally, the MCK reminds motorists that the Old Chateauguay Road is a limited-access route and is restricted to local traffic only.

Please drive with caution, reduce speed in construction zones, and respect the Move-Over Law when emergency lights are flashing.

Please note that all scheduled work is subject to change based on weather conditions, operational constraints, or project progression.
