Mange Fox

The Public Safety Division’s Animal Control Services is advising the community of recent sightings of foxes exhibiting signs of mange, particularly near the Town Apartments/207 area and at the end of the Old Chateauguay Road. Animal Control is actively monitoring the situation and has consulted with wildlife rescue organizations for expert guidance.

Mange is a serious parasitic condition that affects the health of wild animals. While the instinct to help may be strong, the best way to support these foxes is to avoid feeding or approaching them. Foxes are naturally cautious and difficult to trap, but when left undisturbed, they are more likely to enter humane traps in search of food. This allows Animal Control to safely capture, treat, and return them to their natural habitat.

As of Saturday, June 14th, Animal Control will no longer be able to provide on-call services during evenings and weekends until further notice due to staffing issues. For emergencies, please contact the Peacekeepers at 450-632-6505. For all other inquiries or to report a sighting, call 450-632-0635, leave a brief message with your name and phone number, and someone will return your call as soon as possible.

Animal Control Services thanks the community for its continued cooperation and understanding.
