The Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke (MCK) proudly celebrates the outstanding achievements of all Kahnawà:ke sports teams, whose successes this year have brought pride and inspiration to our community. From the rink to the field, our athletes have showcased exceptional talent, dedication, and commitment in representing our community.
In particular, MCK is elated to highlight a groundbreaking moment in Kahnawà:ke sports history: the Kahnawà:ke Junior B Hunters have captured the prestigious Founder’s Cup, becoming national lacrosse champions for the first time in the team’s history.
This victory marks a historic milestone—not only for the Hunters, but for the entire community—as it is the first time any team from Kahnawà:ke has earned a national championship title.
“This is more than just a win,” said Ohén:ton Í:rate ne Ratitsénhaienhs Cody Diabo. “It’s a powerful testament to the strength, unity, and determination of our youth. The Hunters have made Kahnawà:ke proud, and their achievement will inspire generations to come.”
MCK extends heartfelt congratulations to the players, coaches, families, and supporters who made this championship possible. The MCK also acknowledges the broader community of Kahnawà:ke athletes who continue to excel and uplift our collective spirit through sport.
