The Client Based Services (CBS) Unit of the Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke would like to inform the community that applications are now available for the Essential Snow Removal Program for the 2025-2026 season. This service is intended for low-income elderly and disabled community members.
The program will operate from Monday, December 1, 2025, to Tuesday, March 31, 2026, and provides access for emergency service personnel by clearing entryways, such as ramps, stairs, and driveways. The program can only accept a limited number of clients, and previous clientele must re-apply each year.
Eligibility:
All Kahnawa’kehró:non on the Kahnawà:ke Kanien’kehá:ka Registry who meet the following criteria are eligible to apply for the service:
- 65 years of age
- Living alone with limited income
- Having physical disabilities/medical conditions – as verified by a medical professional
- No able-bodied person can be living at the same residence as participant
