The Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke (MCK) has been informed by the Jacques Cartier & Champlain Bridges Incorporated that paving work will require the complete closure of the Kahnawà:ke bound Mercier Bridge this weekend.
The closure will be in place from Friday, September 26th 11pm until Monday, September 29th 5am.
All traffic heading towards Kahnawà:ke/South Shore will be diverted to the Montreal bound side of the span, with two lanes available. Traffic heading towards Chateauguay and points west will have to use the left-hand lane, and those heading towards A-30/Saint-Constant/La Prairie will need to be in the right-hand lane. Due to this traffic configuration, the Airlie entrance from Lasalle towards R-138 West/ Kahnawà:ke bound bridge will be closed.
Motorists wishing to access Montreal this weekend are being advised to avoid R-207 south, R-138 east and R-132 west through Kahnawà:ke and to follow the detour signs, A-30/R-132 to the Champlain Bridge.
Please drive with caution, slow down when entering construction zones, and respect the Move-Over Law when emergency lights are flashing.
The MCK reminds the public that these works are subject to change due to weather conditions, operational constraints, or work progression.
