Junior Environmental Technician – Lessons From The Land Camp Counsellor

Kahnawà:ke Environment Protection Office

The Kahnawà:ke Environment Protection Office (KEPO) is launching its first edition of the Lessons From The Land Camp. As a Lessons From The Land Camp Counsellor, you will be assisting the environmental education team in running a land-based environmental summer camp for youth. Rooted in Kanien’kehá:ka teachings, together you will be assisting in running learning activities like fishing, quilling, and beading. As a team, we are working to build the next generation of environmental and cultural leaders.

You will also have an opportunity to learn more about activities and initiatives at KEPO. You will have the opportunity to participate in fieldwork activities outside of the camp, including surface water sampling, macroinvertebrate inventories, bat and bird monitoring, and invasive species control.

Our goal with this position is to provide an opportunity for you to become a leader in the environment in the community through direct participation in the Lessons From The Land Camp and other KEPO activities.

Kanien’kehá:ka Rights and Research (KRR), Office of the Council of Chiefs (OCC)

Under the supervision of the General Manager of KRR and in direct support of the KRR Researcher, the Rights Based Researcher provides research, administrative, and coordination support on files related to consultation, land grievances, and rights-based initiatives. The successful candidate shall contribute to the advancement of the aforementioned KRR priorities.

Sports & Recreation Junior Generalist

Sports and Recreation Unit

Students will perform duties related to the safety, security, maintenance and operation of the Kahnawà:ke Beach and Kahnawà:ke Mini Putt. To oversee concession sales and acts as caretaker for the venue. Students may be placed at either venue as needed.

Dependent on Kahnawà:ke Beach schedule, will also be required to assist with maintenance, scheduling and safety inspection of the Kahnawá:ke Sports & Recreation Facilities.

To prepare sports facilities for games and the fields and playing surfaces.

Easter Holiday office closure

Friday, April 3rd & Monday, April 6th, 2026

All administrative offices of the Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke will be closed.

 

Please note the following changes to Waste Management Department services during this period:

 

  • Friday, April 3rd – Administrative offices closed
  • Monday, April 6th – Waste Management services resume as usual; however, there will be no cardboard drop‑offs
  • Monday, April 6th – Transfer Depot will operate with reduced hours, from 8am to 2pm

 

Garbage pickup service will continue through the holiday without interruption.

 

All essential services will remain operational throughout the office closures. Regular administrative office hours will resume on Tuesday, April 7th, at 8:30am.
