Police Operation Leads to Multiple Arrests

Peacekeepers

The Kahnawake Mohawk Peacekeepers, Le Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM), and officers from the Équipe intégrée de lutte au trafic d’armes (EILTA) Montréal, conducted a series of raids targeting organized crime and illegal firearms trafficking in Kahnawà:ke and Montreal.

This operation stems from an investigation launched in May 2025 by the SPVM’s Northern Project Investigations Unit into the trafficking of illegal firearms and transited through Kahnawà:ke.

Five firearms were seized during the investigation, even before the case reached its final stages.

In February 2026, the SPVM began collaborating with EILTA, whose mandate is to investigate large-scale firearms supply chains and cross-border trafficking.

On May 20, 2026, SPVM investigators conducted field operations that led to the arrest of Georges Michael Latimer-Nolan, 24, and Gaven Mayo, 35, as well as the seizure of seven firearms.

Subsequently, on May 21, 2026, an operation led by The Kahnawake Mohawk Peacekeepers and EILTA concluded with searches of three residences in Kahnawà:ke, resulting in the seizure of:

  • Three firearms, including one prohibited firearm and prohibited devices.
  • A replica firearm.

Two local males and a local female were arrested and questioned by investigators. They are expected to appear in court in Montreal on firearms charges.
