Purpose: 

The Employee Experience & Engagement Coordinator is responsible for enhancing the overall employee experience through the planning and execution of staff events, onboarding initiatives, recognition programs, engagement strategies, and wellness programs.

Roles & Responsibilities:

Employee Experience, Engagement & Recognition 

  • Develops and implements employee engagement initiatives to support a positive workplace culture. 
  • Designs, administers, and analyzes employee engagement surveys; provides recommendations and supports action planning. 
  • Leads and manages employee recognition programs, including the development, coordination, and continuous improvement of recognition initiatives. 
  • Manages years of service recognition and develops employee recognition programs. 
  • Promotes a culture of appreciation and recognition across the organization. 
  • Monitors engagement trends and identifies opportunities to improve employee satisfaction and retention. 

Staff Events & Activities 

  • Plans, coordinates, and executes staff events, recognition activities, and organizational gatherings including key annual events such as the family picnic, golf tournament, and Christmas party. 
  • Manage event logistics including budgeting, vendors, communications, and execution. 
  • Works closely with the Training Coordinator and local businesses for staff events and initiatives. 
  • Supports and participates in job fairs and community engagement initiatives. 
  • Tracks and reports on event participation metrics and overall effectiveness. 
  • Ensures events are inclusive and aligned with organizational values 

OCC Community Event Support 

  • Assists in the coordination and planning of three annual community events in collaboration with the OCC Admin Team; Trunk-or-Treat, Karonhiarahstha’s Annual Winter Wonderland and the Holiday Parade.  
  • Supports event coordination activities including communications and logistics to ensure successful event delivery. 

Onboarding & Orientation 

  • Coordinates and delivers onboarding programs for new employees to ensure a smooth and positive transition into the organization. 
  • Develops and maintains onboarding materials, schedules, and processes. 
  • Partners with managers to support effective integration of new hires. 
  • Supports offboarding processes and feedback collection  

Wellness Program 

  • Develops, implements, and evaluates employee wellness initiatives and programs. 
  • Promotes physical, mental, and emotional well-being through targeted activities and resources. 
  • Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to support wellness offerings. 

Program Coordination & Support 

  • Tracks participation, evaluates program effectiveness, and prepares reports on outcomes. 
  • Supports continuous improvement of engagement, onboarding, recognition, and wellness initiatives. 
  • Ensures alignment with HR policies, procedures, and organizational priorities. 

Education & Experience:

  • DEC or Certificate in Human Resources Management, Public Relations, or related field, plus three (3) years’ relevant experience. 

OR 

  • High School Diploma, plus five (5) years relevant experience.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with employees at all levels of the organization. 
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills, with the ability to plan, coordinate, and execute multiple initiatives simultaneously. 
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment. 
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Creative and solutions-focused approach to planning events, engagement initiatives, and wellness programs. 
  • Capacity, cultural competency and adaptability to work with diverse groups. 
  • Experience coordinating events, programs, or initiatives from planning through execution. 
  • Ability to gather, analyze, and interpret feedback (e.g., engagement surveys) to inform improvements. 
  • Sound judgment and professionalism when handling sensitive or confidential information. 
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and familiarity with HR systems or survey tools. 
  • Ability to adapt to new tools, systems, and processes quickly. 
  • Demonstrates professionalism, discretion, and a client-service mindset in all interactions. 
  • Maintains confidentiality.  
  • Adhere to the MCK policies and Kanien’kéha Language initiatives. 
  • Ability to communicate in the Kanien’kéha and French languages is an asset. 
  • The willingness to learn the Kanien’kéha language. 

Working Environment:

  • Five-day work week is performed in an office environment. 
  • Occasional overtime
