The Alcoholic Beverages Control (ABC) Board would like to announce to the community that they have decided, via a Board Resolution, to extend the validity of all ABC permits previously issued for the 2024-2025 period by the former ABC Board for a period of one hundred twenty (120) days. The extension is set to begin October 31st, 2025, and end February 28th, 2026.
The current ABC Permits were renewed on July 31, 2024, by the former ABC Board and were set to expire on July 31, 2025. However, given that there was no operational Board at that time, and the various delays regarding the election, the permits were extended for a 90-day period to end on October 31, 2025. While there is now a fully operational Board assembled, the Board members have decided to extend the permits in order to allow for inspections and filing/documentation to be done and provided by the permit holders, and for the Board members to have enough time for proper consideration during the permit renewal process.
Permit holders wishing to renew their ABC permit past February 28th, 2026, will be required to provide a complete application, proof of current liability insurance of one million ($1,000,000) dollars, a fire inspection certificate from the Kahnawà:ke Fire Brigade, and a sanitation certificate from a Community Health Representative, as per s. 130 of the Law. It is recommended that permit holders prepare these requirements in advance to avoid any further delays. The ABC Board reserves the right to request clarification or additional documents, when necessary.
Applications, a required document checklist, and a privacy waiver and consent form can be obtained by contacting the Board at ABCBoard@mck.ca. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact the Board.
