This letter authorizes the AtkinsRealis to install traffic monitoring cameras at two (2) locations on R-132. The cameras will be used for a traffic study, and only record/count vehicles, not the surrounding area.

The traffic monitor cameras will be installed on Monday, August 10 at 7am and removed on, Wednesday, August 12, 2026, at 5pm.

The purpose of the traffic count is for a study for a project to enhance both intersections (see map below) on R-132.

  • No Cardboard drop-offs
  • Transfer Depot will be closed
  • Recycling, compost, and cardboard pickup service will continue as usual

Regular office hours will resume on Tuesday, June 23rd, at 8:30am.

Labor Day office closure

The Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke wishes to inform the community that all its administrative offices will be closed for Rotiio’ténion Raonenhnísera, Labor Day on Monday, September 7th.

Service Schedule for Labor Day:

  • Recycling & Compost Collection: Will continue as usual – Please place bins curbside by 7am
  • Transfer Depot: CLOSED for the day
  • Town Garage: CLOSED – All cardboard drop-offs postponed to Tuesday, September 8th

 

All essential services will remain in operation. Regular business hours will resume on Tuesday, September 8th, at 8:30am.
