Caisse Populaire donates to the Multi-Purpose Building Project

The Multi-Purpose Building Committee, comprised of the Partnership of the Kanien’kehá:ka Onkwawén:na Raotitióhkwa Language & Cultural Center (KORLCC), Turtle Island Theatre, Kahnawà:ke Tourism and the Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke – wishes to offer its gratitude for the generous donation last week by the Kahnawake Caisse Populaire of $750,000.; a combination of the Good Spark Fund $500.000. & the Community Development Fund $250,000. This donation helps us get closer to reaching the Capital Campaign fundraising goal of $16 million towards the Project.

“The staff, Board, and students are very thankful to the Caisse Populaire for its considerable donation to our Capital Campaign,” said Kawennanóron Lisa Phillips. “We thank them for their continued support and for taking the role of one of the campaign’s lead donators.”

“On behalf of all of us, I’d like to give a huge thanks to the Caisse Populaire for its generosity,” said Jessica Henandez of Turtle Island Theatre. “As we continue with the construction of the building of the Project, every donation is crucial.”

The new facility will be located on Highway 132 near the Kahnawà:ke Survival School.

  • Transfer Depot will be closed
  • Recycling, compost, and cardboard pickup service will continue as usual

Regular office hours will resume on Tuesday, June 23rd, at 8:30am.

Waste Management services are as follows:

  • There will be NO Recycling and Compost collection
  • No cardboard drop offs
  • The Transfer Depot will be closed – regular Transfer Depot hours resume on Saturday, July 4th
  • Household Garbage collection will continue as usual

 

All essential services will remain in operation.

Regular business hours will resume at 8:30am on Monday, July 6th.
