Call for Tenders for the 2025/2026 Essential Snow Removal Program for the Elderly and Disabled

The Client Based Services Unit of the Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke (MCK) is inviting Contractors to submit tenders for the 2025/2026 Essential Snow Removal Program for the Elderly and Disabled.

Services include plowing or shoveling driveways, clearing walkways to a minimum width of four feet, and ensuring steps and wheelchair ramps are accessible. Salt will be provided to all Contractors. Snow must be cleared within five hours of snowfall starting at 8am, with some clients requiring priority service.

Eligible bidders must have their principal place of business in Kahnawà:ke. Joint ventures between Kahnawa’kehró:non and non-Kahnawa’kehró:non Contractors are accepted, with preference given to Kahnawà:ke Contractors who demonstrate a commitment to hiring local workers.

The deadline for submissions is 4pm on Friday, October 31, 2025. Tender documents are available at the Client Based Services Office, Monday to Friday, from 8:30am to 4pm.

  • Recycling, compost, and cardboard pickup service will continue as usual

Waste Management services are as follows:

  • There will be NO Recycling and Compost collection
  • No cardboard drop offs
  • The Transfer Depot will be closed – regular Transfer Depot hours resume on Saturday, July 4th
  • Household Garbage collection will continue as usual

 

All essential services will remain in operation.

Regular business hours will resume at 8:30am on Monday, July 6th.
