Controlled Blasting at Multi-Purpose Building Site EXTENDED

The Public Safety Division of the Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke wishes to inform the community that the controlled blasting works at the Kahnawà:ke Multi-Purpose Building worksite will be extended until Friday, October 4th.

Blasting was originally scheduled for Friday, September 27th, and Monday, September 30th.

The work is being performed by Enterprises QMD Inc. and The National, following all safety measures. A rock blast cover will be used to suppress debris and noise, a warning sound will be issued prior to blasting, and seismographs will be in place to monitor vibrations.

Additionally, fencing has been installed around the site. Individuals are asked to avoid the work zone.

The Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke wishes to inform the community that all its administrative offices will be closed for Rotiio’ténion Raonenhnísera, Labor Day on Monday, September 7th.

Service Schedule for Labor Day:

  • Recycling & Compost CollectionWill continue as usual – Please place bins curbside by 7am
  • Transfer DepotCLOSED for the day
  • Town GarageCLOSED – All cardboard drop-offs postponed to Tuesday, September 8th

 

All essential services will remain in operation. Regular business hours will resume on Tuesday, September 8th, at 8:30am.
