DEADLINE EXTENDED – Transport Quebec Call for Tenders Mercier Bridge Maintenance Contract

The Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke (MCK) wishes to inform the community that the deadline has been EXTENDED to Thursday, March 14, 2024 for Kahnawà:ke Contractors to submit their bids to the Ministère des Transports du Quebec Call for Tenders for maintenance work on the provincial portion of the Mercier Bridge (Pont Honoré-Mercier).

The following are the requirements for a contractor to receive their ‘Contractor Certificate’ from the Kahnawà:ke Labor Office to be eligible to bid:

  • The business head office is located within the Territory of Kahnawà:ke (provide Lot & Block #’s)
  • The business is registered and in good standing with Mohawk Self Insurance (MSI)
  • The business is at least 51% Kahnawà:ke Indigenous owned (attested in front of a commissioner of oaths)
  • The business owner has committed to signing a Fair Wage Agreement

Kahnawà:ke Contractors must submit their bid by Thursday, March 14, 2024, at 2pm, using the Système Electronique d′Appels d′Offres (SEAO) – the electronic system used by the Québec government.

The present contract is governed by the provisions of the Labor Agreement between the Government of Québec and the Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke and by Kahnawàke’s Fair Wage Agreement.

The MCK is not part of the contract awarding process.

  • No Cardboard drop-offs
  • Transfer Depot will be closed
  • Recycling, compost, and cardboard pickup service will continue as usual

Regular office hours will resume on Tuesday, June 23rd, at 8:30am.

Friday, July 3rd, 2026

Waste Management services are as follows:

  • There will be NO Recycling and Compost collection
  • No cardboard drop offs
  • The Transfer Depot will be closed – regular Transfer Depot hours resume on Saturday, July 4th
  • Household Garbage collection will continue as usual

 

All essential services will remain in operation.

Regular business hours will resume at 8:30am on Monday, July 6th.
