Essential Snow Removal Program for Elderly and Disabled returns

The Client Based Services Unit of the Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke is pleased to announce the Essential Snow Removal Program for the 2026–2027 season.

The Essential Snow Removal Program is intended to assist with snow-clearing expenses that support safety, accessibility, and overall quality of life.

The Client Based Services Unit will administer the program on an individual basis. Individuals under the age of 65 may also apply if a disability prevents them from completing their own snow removal; medical documentation is required.

Applicant Responsibilities
Each approved applicant is responsible for selecting and retaining a snow removal contractor. A quote or invoice for the proposed services must accompany the application.

Payment will be issued to the applicant based on the approved quote or invoice. The applicant is responsible for ensuring that the contractor receives payment for services rendered.

Eligibility
All Kahnawa’kehró:non listed on the Kahnawà:ke Kanien’kehá:ka Registry who are 65 years of age or older are eligible to apply.

How to Apply
Applications for the 2026–2027 season will be available Monday, October 5, 2027, and may be obtained from the Client Based Services offices in the Services Complex. Completed applications must include a quote or invoice from the applicant’s selected snow removal contractor.
