Fort Wall Stabilization Project

Public Service Announcement

The Capital Unit of the Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke wishes to inform the community of the upcoming project to rebuild the collapsed section of the Fort Wall. The dismantling and rebuilding will begin on Monday, April 1, and is expected to take eight (8) to twelve (12) weeks to complete.

During the recent second call for tenders for the Kahnawà:ke Fort St-Louis Wall Stabilization, Cbrik was selected as the winning bidder.

The work will take place weekdays from 7am to 5:30pm. During work, several parking spots will be closed. These spots are needed to ensure a safe working site. Fencing and proper signage will be installed. Safety measures will be in place to reduce dust and noise.

Shown below is a map of the general area. The shaded area indicates where the work will take place. Please note that the path between Kateri School and the Youth Center will remain open throughout the work.

The community’s patience throughout this project is greatly appreciated. Please contact Lance McComber at the Technical Services Office at 450-635-1016 if further information is required.
