The Mohawk Council of Kahnawake wishes to inform the community that four (4) Animal Control Officers were appointed at a duly convened Council Meeting on Monday, August 26, 2024. The appointments were approved unanimously.
The following individuals are now Animal Control Officers pursuant to the new Kahnawà:ke Animal Control Law (the Law) empowered to enforce the provisions of the Law:
- Brandi Rice – Supervisor Animal Control Officer
- Deidra Whyte – Assistant Animal Control Officer
- Kahnhensentha Delaronde – Animal Control Officer
- Sean Jacobs – On-Call Animal Control Officer
The Animal Control Officers are required to adequately enforce the Law. The Officers will remain in place until the Regulations are approved under the Community Decision Making & Review Process.
The previous Kahnawà:ke Animal Control Law, K.R.L. c., A-2, was recently repealed and replaced on June 10, 2024, through MCR#2/2024-2025.
