Fuel Spill Exploration Work Begins Tomorrow

The Crisis Response Team of the Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke wishes to inform the community that fuel exploration and mitigation work will occur tomorrow, March 20th, in the affected area of Zachary Road.

AECOM, a renowned external consulting firm, has been enlisted to conduct borehole drilling in the affected area. Additionally, RML Landscaping, a trusted local company, will be on-site to perform excavation work on the ditch adjacent to Zachary Rd.

This mitigation work is expected to slightly elevate the smell of fuel, but this should not be a cause for concern. Air quality monitors are in place, and data will be collected to ensure safety.

The work will be conducted from 7am until 4pm and is expected to wrap up on Thursday. For more information and to stay updated on the progress, please contact Patrick Ragaz of KEPO at 450 635 0600.
