GWG adds additional documents online amid engagement campaign

Press Release

The Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke (MCK) Gaming Working Group (GWG) wishes to inform the community that three documents related to the proposed expansion of Electronic Gaming Devices (EGDs) are now public for review as part of the ongoing EGD community engagement campaign.

These materials are intended to provide Kahnawa’kehró:non with access to key background information to support community discussion and feedback throughout the campaign.

The public documents are the 3-Year Summary of 9003 – FY2024–2026, the GWG Mandate, and the Kahnawà:ke Gaming Market Assessment. As part of the EGD community engagement campaign, the Gaming Working Group has shared three documents on the proposed expansion of Electronic Gaming Devices

Together, these documents are aimed to support transparency and to help community members better understand the context, considerations, and objectives to the current engagement process.

The GWG reminds members to visit the second Community Kiosk today May 13 from 12-3pm in the Kahnawà:ke Services Complex (Caisse) Lobby.

Throughout the campaign, community members are invited to review information, ask questions, and share their perspectives through a series of engagement activities. These include community kiosks, radio discussions, stakeholder sessions, a special community meeting, and written feedback opportunities. The GWG aims to ensure that community members have additional context to help guide their participation and submissions.

Feedback gathered during the engagement campaign will be reviewed by the GWG and used to help inform recommendations to the Council of Chiefs regarding potential EGD expansion and related priorities. Community members can provide email submission feedback throughout the engagement period at feedback@mck.ca.
