High-speed pursuit ends in arrest on Mercier Bridge

Peacekeeps arrest on Mercier

Forwarded on behalf of the Kahnawake Peacekeepers

On the morning of Thursday, May 8th, 2025, at 7:26am, the Kahnawake Mohawk Peacekeepers intercepted a Honda CRV for a traffic violation on Highway 132. As the Peacekeeper exited their cruiser, the driver of the suspect vehicle fled the scene at a high rate of speed.

The Peacekeeper engaged the vehicle and pursued it for a short distance before the pursuit was called off by the shift supervisor. Despite this, Peacekeepers continued to follow at a distance as the suspect vehicle drove dangerously through the village area, Route 207, and Highway 30, posing a significant risk to public safety. In the interest of public safety, the Peacekeepers re-engaged the vehicle and continued the pursuit.

During the chase, the suspect vehicle collided with several civilian and Peacekeeper vehicles. The pursuit concluded on the Mercier Bridge, where the suspect was placed under arrest following a brief struggle with the Peacekeepers. Four Peacekeepers sustained minor injuries and were treated at the hospital. Additionally, the Rousillion Police arrested the passenger after the driver stopped to allow the passenger and a child to exit the vehicle. The passenger was released on an appearance notice.

The driver of the vehicle, Kristoff Seales (DOB 1996/07/04), was held in custody and appeared before a judge in Longueuil Court on Monday, May 12th. Seales was formally charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, failure to stop following a collision, flight from a peace officer, assaulting a peace officer with a weapon, assaulting a peace officer with intent to resist arrest, resisting arrest, failure to comply with a release order, and possession of a controlled substance.
