Ietsénhaienhs Melanie Morrison medical leave extended

Public Service Announcement

The Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke’s (MCK) Office of the Council of Chiefs wishes to inform the community that Ietsénhaienhs Melanie Morrison’s medical leave has been extended, and she is now scheduled to return to the office on Monday, January 12, 2026.

The following temporary portfolio assignments remain in effect:

  • Heritage Portolio (Lead): Ratsénhaienhs Stephen McComber
  • Public/Community Safety: Ratsénhaienhs Iohahí:io Delisle

Ietsénhaienhs Morrison’s medical leave began on Tuesday, October 21, 2025. The MCK wishes her a full and speedy recovery.

The Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke (MCK) would like to inform the community that all its administrative offices will be closed for Tsi Na’teiontenonhwerá:tons Awenhnísera on Monday, October 12th.

The Waste Management Department will be closed for cardboard drop-offs. Regular household recycling, compost, and special collections pickup will occur as usual. The Transfer Depot will be closed for the holiday.

All essential services will remain in operation.

Regular office business hours will resume on Tuesday, October 13th, at 8:30am.
