Delisle Iohahiio 2024

The Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke is informing the community that Iohahí:io Delisle has submitted his resignation from the position of Ratsénhaienhs, effective Thursday, March 19, 2026.

Delisle was elected to Council in an MCK By-Election held November 5, 2022. He was later re-elected into office for another term in the 2024 MCK Election on July 6, 2024.

Delisle served as Lead on the Regulatory Boards/Commissions & Labor, and Social Supports & Development Portfolios, and held the Portfolio for External Government Relations, Lands & Territories, and Economic Development. Official re-allocation of Delisle’s portfolios will be determined at the duly convened Council Meeting scheduled for Monday, March 30th.

As per the Kahnawà:ke Election Law, a By-Election is not required as the resignation comes after the midway point of the current 2024-2027 term.

“The Ratitsénhaienhs thank Iohahí:io Delisle for his service, notably his work on the External Government Relations portfolio, with particular attention to the Municipal Relations file, as well as his contributions to the Community Social Supports Portfolio, and wish him and his family well as they embark on this new chapter,” said Ohén:ton Í:rate ne Ratitsénhaienhs Cody Diabo.
