All news & information that originates from the Mohawk Council of Kahnawá:ke, whether political or operational, is distributed through the Communications Unit.

The Communications Unit has at its disposal, a wide variety of publicity tools to disperse the information to the Residents of Kahnawá:ke, local & external media, as well as non-resident Community Members.

Roads & Highway Department Laborer

Purpose: Provides general labor and maintenance services to the Public Works Unit. Roles & Responsibilities To provide labor for roads & highways, and other maintenance

Recruitment Specialist

Purpose: The Recruitment Specialist is responsible for sourcing quality candidates to meet the needs of the organization. The incumbent will participate in the full recruitment

Director of the Office of the Council of Chiefs

Purpose:Is responsible for managing all operational aspects of the OCC to ensure effective operationsand provide strategic direction and guidance to the operations team to ensure

General Laborer

Purpose: The General Laborer provides general building maintenance service to all Mohawk Council ofKahnawà:ke owned buildings, structures, and grounds. Roles & Responsibilities: Performs community building

Special Projects Coordinator

Purpose:To carry out special projects of the Public Safety Division. Ensures appropriateoperational actions are taken in order to ensure the implementation of special projectsin alignment

Program Manager

Purpose: The Program Manager researches, develops, and implements new housing programs andservices aligned to the community’s needs and the strategic direction of the Housing Unit.Responsible

Easter Holiday office closure

Friday, April 3rd & Monday, April 6th, 2026

All administrative offices of the Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke will be closed.

 

Please note the following changes to Waste Management Department services during this period:

 

  • Friday, April 3rd – Administrative offices closed
  • Monday, April 6th – Waste Management services resume as usual; however, there will be no cardboard drop‑offs
  • Monday, April 6th – Transfer Depot will operate with reduced hours, from 8am to 2pm

 

Garbage pickup service will continue through the holiday without interruption.

 

All essential services will remain operational throughout the office closures. Regular administrative office hours will resume on Tuesday, April 7th, at 8:30am.
