JOINT PRESS RELEASE – Community Information Session on Industrial Spill

The Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke (MCK), the Kahnawà:ke Environment Protection Office (KEPO), and Environmental Health Services (EHS) of Kahnawà:ke Shakotiia’takehnhas Community Services (KSCS) wish to invite those who live on Zachary Road and all others who may be affected by the Industrial Spill to an information session on:

Monday, February 26, 2024 from 6-9pm at the Kahnawà:ke Legion Branch 219

Representatives from the Fuel Response Working Group will be present to provide updates, followed by a question-and-answer period.

Concerned community members can continue to contact EHS at 450-635-9945 regarding home water and air quality, and KEPO at 450-635-0600 for Environmental concerns on public or private lands.

  • No Cardboard drop-offs
  • Transfer Depot will be closed
  • Recycling, compost, and cardboard pickup service will continue as usual

Regular office hours will resume on Tuesday, June 23rd, at 8:30am.

Labor Day office closure

The Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke wishes to inform the community that all its administrative offices will be closed for Rotiio’ténion Raonenhnísera, Labor Day on Monday, September 7th.

Service Schedule for Labor Day:

  • Recycling & Compost CollectionWill continue as usual – Please place bins curbside by 7am
  • Transfer DepotCLOSED for the day
  • Town GarageCLOSED – All cardboard drop-offs postponed to Tuesday, September 8th

 

All essential services will remain in operation. Regular business hours will resume on Tuesday, September 8th, at 8:30am.
