Kahnawake Peacekeepers arrest suspect following high-speed incident on Highway 138

Peacekeepers

On the morning of June 6, 2026, at 02:36, the Kahnawake Peacekeepers were alerted by the Sûreté du Québec to be on the lookout for a black Audi RS8 that had fled from them at a high rate of speed and was last seen on Highway 138.

A Peacekeeper was leaving the station at the time of the call and reported hearing a motor vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed on Highway 138 West. The Peacekeepers followed the sound and located the Audi parked in the rear parking lot of Robbie’s Smokehouse Restaurant and moved to intercept the vehicle.

A non-local male was standing outside the vehicle. When he noticed the Peacekeepers approaching, he ran back to the Audi and attempted to flee, striking two Peacekeeper vehicles before hitting a fence and immobilizing his own vehicle.

The male was placed under arrest. During a search, a small, crushed pill was found inside a bag in the suspect vehicle. The substance will be sent to a laboratory for testing.

The driver was held in custody and is scheduled to appear before a judge on Monday, June 8, 2026. He is facing the following charges:

  • Assault with intent to resist arrest
  • Dangerous operation of a conveyance
  • Flight from a peace officer
  • Mischief over $5,000
  • Possession
