Kahnawake Peacekeepers Respond to Threatening Social Media Message

The Kahnawake Peacekeepers are aware of a threatening message that was posted on social media earlier today.

The safety and well-being of our community is our highest priority. Upon becoming aware of the message, we immediately took appropriate steps, and we are taking the situation seriously. There is an active investigation into the matter. At no time was there a direct threat to any school or public building.

We have implemented precautionary measures while we assess the matter.

We encourage anyone with relevant information to contact the Peacekeepers

The Peacekeepers wish to remind everyone that the posting of wrong information leads to undue panic in the community.

  • Transfer Depot will be closed
  • No cardboard drop-offs
  • All essential services remain in operation
