Kaniatarowanen St Lawrence River Workshop and Info Kiosk

Public Service Announcement

The Kahnawà:ke Environment Protection Office (KEPO) in collaboration with the River Institute (RI) and the Mohawk Council of Akwesasne (MCA) Environment Office, is hosting a workshop focused on the Kaniatarowá:nen/St. Lawrence River. The workshop is scheduled for Thursday, November 7th, from 5pm to 8pm at the Kahnawà:ke Golden Age Club.

The workshop will feature the latest findings from the Kaniatarowá:nen/St. Lawrence River Community Visioning Survey, with presentations from RI and MCA on key insights from The Great River Rapport. KEPO will also facilitate an open discussion regarding the river′s health. Attendees will be entered into a draw for a chance to win a $100 Mountain Equipment Company gift card. Light catering will be provided.

To prepare the community for the Kaniatarowá:nen/St. Lawrence River workshop, KEPO will hold an Information Kiosk at Tóta Ma’s Cafe on Friday, November 1st, from 10am to 2pm. KEPO staff will be available to answer questions regarding the survey, the upcoming workshop, and future river-related projects. Visitors to the kiosk can enjoy free coffee and snacks from Tóta Ma’s, while supplies last.

Understanding the ecosystem health of our natural world is the first step to improving it, and our community′s knowledge is key to that understanding.
