Public Service Announcement

The Mohawk Council of Kahnawake (MCK) is pleased to announce that Ms. Kary Robertson has been appointed as an Alternate Member of the Kahnawake Cannabis Control Board (KCCB) for a two-year term, effective immediately. Her term will run until September 3, 2026.

This appointment follows the enactment of the Regulation Concerning Alternate Board Members under the Kahnawà:ke Cannabis Control Law (KCCL), which was passed by the MCK through Mohawk Council Executive Directive (MCED) #43 2024-2025 on June 17, 2024.

As per Section 4 of the Regulation Concerning Alternate Board Members, Ms. Robertson may be called upon to serve on the KCCB when necessary to ensure a quorum during meetings and decision-making processes. This could include temporarily replacing a Board member who is unable to participate due to circumstances such as illness or conflict of interest.

The Kahnawà:ke Cannabis Control Board is tasked with regulating, enforcing, and administering the KCCL in alignment with the best interests of the Kanien’kehá:ka of Kahnawà:ke. Board members are responsible for adhering to principles of health, safety, security, honesty, and integrity while administering the law in a manner that is consistent with local, federal, and provincial laws related to cannabis.
