The Kahnawà:ke Environment Protection Office (KEPO) wishes to inform the community that the first draft of the Kahnawà:ke Environmental Vision has been completed, marking the next phase of the project.
The draft vision is based on survey responses, engagements, and community events conducted over the past year. It is intended to guide future initiatives and serve as a shared goal for community-led environmental efforts. The draft is available for review on KEPO’s website and can be viewed here: https://kahnawakeenvironment.com/project/kahnawake-environmental-visioning-project/
In the coming months, KEPO will work with PlanIt Consulting to ensure the vision reflects the views of Kahnawa’kehró:non. Representatives will be present at community events, local kiosks, and engagement sessions. Updates on upcoming opportunities to participate will be shared on KEPO’s social media platforms.
Community members, families, units, and organizations interested in hosting an engagement session are encouraged to contact KEPO at 450-635-0600 or visit the office located in the blue building across from the Sports Complex.
KEPO invites feedback on the draft vision, including whether it reflects the community’s priorities and what actions should be taken to bring it to life.
Protecting the territory honors our ancestors and strengthens identity. Protecting the land also means protecting the culture, language, and future.
