Labor Office seeking skilled trade workers

The Kahnawà:ke Labor Office (KLO) is seeking skilled trade workers in the construction industry to register and participate in their Referral Services for large-scale (Fair Wage) projects in and around the community.

This Referral Service is intended for, but not limited to, the following trades or occupations:

  • Carpenter, Electrician, General Laborer, Heavy Equipment Operator, Insulator, Ironworker, Rodbuster, Painter, Pipe Fitter, Plasterer, Roofer, Surveyor, Tile Setter, Tinsmith, Watchman, Welder, etc.

“Our goal is to maximize Kahnawà:ke workers on these high-wage construction projects by enhancing our labor pool,” said KLO Director Jeff Morris. “This will help us to better serve our community, determine training needs, and improve labor market outcomes.”

  • No Cardboard drop-offs
  • Transfer Depot will be closed
  • Recycling, compost, and cardboard pickup service will continue as usual

Regular office hours will resume on Tuesday, June 23rd, at 8:30am.

Waste Management services are as follows:

  • There will be NO Recycling and Compost collection
  • No cardboard drop offs
  • The Transfer Depot will be closed – regular Transfer Depot hours resume on Saturday, July 4th
  • Household Garbage collection will continue as usual

 

All essential services will remain in operation.

Regular business hours will resume at 8:30am on Monday, July 6th.
