Lands Unit to Conduct Public Consultation

The Lands Unit of the Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke invites all Kahnawa′kehrón to participate in the Community Consultation for the Kahnawà:ke Land Allotment Policy. This consultation period will be open for 30 days, starting Monday, August 26, 2024, and concluding Wednesday, September 25, 2024.

During this period, Kahnawa’kehró:non are encouraged to share their feedback with Cole McComber, Land Allotment Administrator, through the following methods:

“Your voice is crucial in shaping our future. Community engagement is key to developing policies reflecting our collective values,” emphasized Veronica Leborgne, Director of Lands.

The proposed new Land Allotment Policy is available for review here. Noteworthy updates include introducing a declaration form and site inspection requirements during the application process.

All comments should be submitted by Wednesday, September 25, 2024, at 4pm.

  • Transfer Depot will be closed
