The Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke (MCK) is deeply saddened and wishes to offer its condolences to the family and friends of Matthew Montour, who passed away on May 3, 2025, at the age of 52.
Since joining the Public Works Unit in June 2022, Matthew held several roles, including as an on-call Sewage Plant Operator, in Recycling Operations, and within the Roads & Highway division. From July 2024 onward, he continued to assist in on-call roles in both Public Works and Asset Management. He brought a quiet dedication to every position he held, contributing to the services that support our community.
Matthew is remembered as a proud husband, father, son, grandfather, and uncle. Details regarding funeral arrangements will be made available by the family at a later date. Our thoughts are with his loved ones at this very difficult time.
