MCK waives annual Water and Sewer maintenance fee

Public Service Announcement

The Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke (MCK) wishes to inform the community that it has waived the $59 annual Water and Sewer maintenance fee for those in good standing. Those who are in arrears are not eligible. This decision was approved at a duly convened Council meeting held on Monday, February 16, 2026.

The waiver applies to all unit types for the 2024–2025 and 2025–2026 fiscal years. In addition, primary residence units will receive the waiver for an additional fiscal year, extending through 2026–2027.

The annual Water and Sewer maintenance fee was standardized at a flat rate of $59 in 1982 and has remained unchanged since that time. The fee functions as a form of service coverage, ensuring that water and sewer system maintenance and necessary repairs are carried out when issues arise.

Please note that the MCK fiscal year runs from April 1 to March 31.
