Mia Phillips named Interim Director of Administrative Services

The Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke (MCK) is pleased to announce the appointment of Mia Phillips as Interim Director of Administrative Services, effective August 31, 2026. This appointment follows organizational changes within the Administrative Services Unit and will ensure continued leadership, stability, and support for essential administrative services.

Ms. Phillips has been employed with the MCK in a variety of progressively responsible roles spanning more than two decades. She began her career as Executive Administrative Assistant with the Lands Unit in 2003 before serving as Interim Tioweró:ton Coordinator. She later served as Executive Assistant to the Executive Financial Officer within the Finance Unit.

The MCK extends its appreciation to the Administrative Services team for its continued professionalism and dedication and looks forward to working with Ms. Phillips in her interim role.

“Strong leadership and organizational expertise are essential to ensuring the continued delivery of administrative services that support the work of the organization,” said Interim Executive Administrative Officer Donna McCarthy. “Ms. Phillips brings extensive experience, institutional knowledge, and a proven commitment to the MCK.”

In 2019, Ms. Phillips was appointed General Manager of Finance & Administration, a role she held until 2024, when she became General Manager of Administrative Services. Throughout her tenure, she has demonstrated strong leadership, operational expertise, and a commitment to supporting the organization’s strategic priorities.

Ms. Phillips’ professional development includes a Financial Consulting Attestation from Champlain College in Saint-Lambert, completion of the MCK Language & Culture Program, leadership and management training, and Project Management training through the John Molson School of Business.

In her new role as Interim Director of Administrative Services, Ms. Phillips will provide leadership and oversight for the Administrative Services portfolio, supporting ongoing operations and ensuring the continued delivery of services to the organization.

Phillips’ appointment is set until October 30th.

Service Schedule for Labor Day:

  • Transfer DepotCLOSED for the day
  • Town GarageCLOSED – All cardboard drop-offs postponed to Tuesday, September 8th

 

All essential services will remain in operation. Regular business hours will resume on Tuesday, September 8th, at 8:30am.
