This letter authorizes the Ministry of Environment and Wildlife – Quebec, will be accompanied by staff members from Animal Control and  KEPO to conduct a raccoon rabies vaccination-bait distribution operation.From August 27th, to August 28th, 2026.

The distribution will take place across the entire Territory of Kahnawà:ke with increased concentrations of bait in areas identified as raccoon hot spots.

Labor Day office closure

The Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke wishes to inform the community that all its administrative offices will be closed for Rotiio’ténion Raonenhnísera, Labor Day on Monday, September 7th.

Service Schedule for Labor Day:

  • Recycling & Compost Collection: Will continue as usual – Please place bins curbside by 7am
  • Transfer Depot: CLOSED for the day
  • Town Garage: CLOSED – All cardboard drop-offs postponed to Tuesday, September 8th

 

All essential services will remain in operation. Regular business hours will resume on Tuesday, September 8th, at 8:30am.
