Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke Holiday Closures

The Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke wishes to advise the community that all its administrative offices will be closed for the holidays from Wednesday, December 24, 2025, until Thursday, January 1, 2026, inclusively.

Regular business hours will resume on Friday, January 2, 2026.

All essential services will remain operational throughout the break.

Waste Management Department’s holiday schedule is as follows:

Recycling & Cardboard Collection

  • No cardboard drop-offs from Monday, December 22, 2025, to Friday, January 2, 2026. Cardboard drop-offs will resume on Monday, January 5, 2026
  • Regular Recycling, Cardboard, and special collection will take place on December 24, 29, 30, and 31, 2025
  • Thursday, December 25th, collections will be moved to Friday, December 26, 2025
  • Thursday, January 1st, collections will be moved to Friday, January 2, 2026

Transfer Depot

  • Closed: December 24, 25, 26, and 27, 2025
  • Reduced hours Monday, December 29, 30, and 31st – 8am to 2pm
  • Household garbage is not accepted at the Transfer Depot
  • Regular hours resume on Friday, January 2, 2026

Labor Day office closure

The Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke wishes to inform the community that all its administrative offices will be closed for Rotiio’ténion Raonenhnísera, Labor Day on Monday, September 7th.

Service Schedule for Labor Day:

  • Recycling & Compost CollectionWill continue as usual – Please place bins curbside by 7am
  • Transfer DepotCLOSED for the day
  • Town GarageCLOSED – All cardboard drop-offs postponed to Tuesday, September 8th
