Notice of demolition – Kahnawà:ke Library

Library

The Asset Management Unit of the Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke (MCK) wishes to inform the community that the former Skawenni:io Tsi Iewennahnotahkhwa Kahnawà:ke Library building, located on the Old Malone Highway, is scheduled for demolition from Monday, September 29th to Wednesday, October 8th, between 7am and 5pm on working days.

The demolition will involve the use of heavy machinery, which may result in increased noise levels, dust, and temporary traffic disruptions in the area. Please be advised that environmental sampling was conducted in early spring 2025 by MCK and SEC Environmental, and no hazardous building materials were found.

During this period, residents can expect a noticeable increase in traffic and noise near the site. The demolition team will implement appropriate measures to minimize dust, noise, and traffic impacts.

For any questions or concerns, please contact Kanento Patton at Kanento.Patton@mck.ca or call 450-632-7500 ext. 50226.
