The Capital Unit of the Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke (MCK) wishes to inform the community that additional roadwork will take place in the Old Châteauguay Road (OCR) area tomorrow, Wednesday, June 17th. Mill work and paving will begin on the OCR from Blind Lady’s Hill Road to Mohawk Street, along with Kirby Lane and the OCR bike path. A section of Old Malone Highway in front of Karonhianónhnha Tsi Ionterihwaienstáhkhwa School will also be worked on.
During paving, the OCR will be closed from Blind Lady’s Hill Road to Mohawk Street, and Kirby Lane will be closed from Kirby Hill to the OCR.
Traffic control personnel will be on site. Residents may temporarily lose driveway access and will be notified in advance.
This work is part of ongoing infrastructure projects in the area. Multiple closures are expected throughout the summer, and the MCK reminds the public that schedules are subject to change due to weather conditions, operational factors, and the pace of work.
The community’s patience and understanding are appreciated.
