The Capital Unit of the Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke would like to inform the Community of the upcoming project to replace the water and sanitary sewer lines in the Old Chateauguay Road area. The work for this project is scheduled to start on Tuesday, April 22nd, and will continue until the end of November 2025.
This project will involve:
- Replacing the existing water and sanitary sewer lines
- Installing a new surface drainage system
- Resurfacing the road with new asphalt upon completion of the above works
Residents in the area may experience temporary inconveniences such as:
- Loss of water supply
- Dust and noise from trucks and equipment
- Detours and temporary road closures
Proper road signalization will be installed to indicate construction limits, and the community will be notified in advance of any road closures. All private property affected by the work (e.g., driveways, walkways, hedges, and/or fences) will be repaired or replaced before the project is completed.
