Overnight lane and ramp closures on the Mercier Bridge

Public Service Announcement

The Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke (MCK) has been informed by the Jacques Cartier & Champlain Bridges, Inc. that maintenance and inspection work will require the overnight closure of the R-132 access ramps on the Kahnawà:ke side of the Mercier bridge tonight. A detour via R-138 will be in place.

  • R-132 West up ramp (from La Prairie/A-30 towards Montreal) closed – Tonight 10pm until Thursday 5am
  • R-132 East down ramp (from Montreal towards La Prairie/A-30) closed – Tonight 10pm until Thursday 5am

Additionally, the Ministère des Transports du Québec has advised the MCK that there will be one lane available in each direction on the Kahnawà:ke-bound side of the span (counter-flow traffic) for removal of equipment and signage tonight 11pm until Thursday 5am. The Airlie entrance and exit will be open to traffic.

Please drive with caution, slow down when entering construction zones, and respect the Move-Over Law when emergency lights are flashing.

The MCK reminds the public that these works are subject to change due to weather conditions, operational constraints, or work progression.

  • Recycling, compost, and cardboard pickup service will continue as usual

Labor Day office closure

The Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke wishes to inform the community that all its administrative offices will be closed for Rotiio’ténion Raonenhnísera, Labor Day on Monday, September 7th.

Service Schedule for Labor Day:

  • Recycling & Compost CollectionWill continue as usual – Please place bins curbside by 7am
  • Transfer DepotCLOSED for the day
  • Town GarageCLOSED – All cardboard drop-offs postponed to Tuesday, September 8th

 

All essential services will remain in operation. Regular business hours will resume on Tuesday, September 8th, at 8:30am.
