Patrick Ragaz new Director of the Kahnawà:ke Environment Protection Office

The Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke is proud to announce Patrick Ragaz as the new Director of the Kahnawà:ke Environment Protection Office (KEPO). With over 22 years of experience in both public and private sectors, Patrick brings a deep understanding of environmental engineering, watershed management, and sustainable infrastructure development.

Since joining KEPO in 2013, Patrick has served in various leadership roles, including Environmental Advisor and General Manager of Field Science. His collaborative approach and technical expertise have been instrumental in advancing KEPO’s mission to protect and preserve the lands, waters, and ecosystems of Kahnawà:ke.

“Our environment is more than just the land—it’s the foundation of our identity and strength,” said Executive Infrastructure Officer, Chris Stacey. “With Patrick’s leadership, KEPO will continue to be guided by the values and knowledge of our community as we protect and preserve Kahnawà:ke for future generations.”

Patrick holds two degrees (honors) from the University of Guelph: a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Engineering and a Bachelor of Science in Wildlife Biology. He is also a Licensed Professional Engineer with Professional Engineers Ontario.

As Director, Patrick will lead multidisciplinary teams and drive strategic initiatives that promote environmental stewardship and support community well-being. He officially began his new role on Monday, November 3, 2025.

  • No Cardboard drop-offs
  • Transfer Depot will be closed
  • Recycling, compost, and cardboard pickup service will continue as usual

Regular office hours will resume on Tuesday, June 23rd, at 8:30am.

Waste Management services are as follows:

  • There will be NO Recycling and Compost collection
  • No cardboard drop offs
  • The Transfer Depot will be closed – regular Transfer Depot hours resume on Saturday, July 4th
  • Household Garbage collection will continue as usual

 

All essential services will remain in operation.

Regular business hours will resume at 8:30am on Monday, July 6th.
