Political Update April

In this political update, developments are shared following recent high-level meetings with the Minister of Indigenous Services on the Additions to Reserve process, as well as a brief meeting with Prime Minister Mark Carney regarding major projects and the need for meaningful consultation. The update also highlights ongoing work around the St. Lawrence Seaway and upcoming discussions with federal officials. In addition, progress continues on the toll feasibility study, with further details expected in the coming months as community engagement remains a priority.

  • No Cardboard drop-offs
  • Transfer Depot will be closed
  • Recycling, compost, and cardboard pickup service will continue as usual

Regular office hours will resume on Tuesday, June 23rd, at 8:30am.

Friday, July 3rd, 2026

Waste Management services are as follows:

  • There will be NO Recycling and Compost collection
  • No cardboard drop offs
  • The Transfer Depot will be closed – regular Transfer Depot hours resume on Saturday, July 4th
  • Household Garbage collection will continue as usual

 

All essential services will remain in operation.

Regular business hours will resume at 8:30am on Monday, July 6th.
