The Public Safety Division of the Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke (MCK) would like to remind Kahnawákeró:non to stay off the railroad tracks following a close call at the Adirondack Junction.
According to information provided by Canadian Pacific Kansas City Railroad (CPKC), three (3) teenagers were seen on the tracks at Adirondack Junction yesterday afternoon and were dangerously close to a passing Exo commuter train. The conductor followed safety protocols. The Kahnawake Peacekeepers were informed of the incident and responded to the area; however, the teenagers were no longer in the area.
Community members are being advised to remind their children of the dangers of playing or walking along the tracks and to only cross at designated railroad crossings.
