Ratitsénhaienhs meet with Chateauguay Mayor

The Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke (MCK) is pleased to inform the community of a meeting that took place this morning between Ratitsénhaienhs Cody Diabo, Iohahí:io Delisle, Jeremiah Johnson, and the Mayor of Chateauguay, Mr. Eric Allard. The meeting, held at Mayor Allard’s office, focused on reestablishing a positive and productive working relationship between the MCK and the Municipality of Chateauguay, as well as discussing the potential for future joint initiatives.

The MCK representatives emphasized the importance of fostering collaborative efforts that benefit the community of Kahnawà:ke and acknowledging shared interests and the potential for mutually beneficial projects. Through open dialogue, both parties expressed their commitment to strengthening the ties between their communities and ensuring a cooperative and respectful partnership moving forward.

“We believe that working together with our neighboring communities is key to building a better future for everyone,” said Ratsénhaienhs Iohahí:io Delisle, who is on the External Government Relations Portfolio. “This meeting was an important step in reestablishing trust and opening the door for future initiatives that will have a positive impact on both Kahnawà:ke and Chateauguay.”

Ratsénhaienhs Delisle will now be the main contact with Chateauguay and will update the community on any developments or new initiatives that may arise from this productive meeting.

Easter Holiday office closure

Friday, April 3rd & Monday, April 6th, 2026

All administrative offices of the Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke will be closed.

 

Please note the following changes to Waste Management Department services during this period:

 

  • Friday, April 3rd – Administrative offices closed
  • Monday, April 6th – Waste Management services resume as usual; however, there will be no cardboard drop‑offs
  • Monday, April 6th – Transfer Depot will operate with reduced hours, from 8am to 2pm

 

Garbage pickup service will continue through the holiday without interruption.

 

All essential services will remain operational throughout the office closures. Regular administrative office hours will resume on Tuesday, April 7th, at 8:30am.
