Ratitsénhaienhs to attend key meetings in Ottawa

The Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke (MCK) wishes to inform the community that Ohén:ton Í:iente ne Ratitsénhaienhs Cody Diabo along with Ratsénhaienhs Ross Montour, will be traveling to Ottawa to participate in key discussions related to the Seigneury of Sault St. Louis Land Grievance (SSSL) file. 

These meetings are focused on reiterating Kahnawà:ke’s position and asserting its jurisdiction during ongoing discussions. The sessions will take place on Wednesday, June 3rd.

In addition, Ratsénhaienhs Ryan Montour will be in Ottawa from Tuesday, June 2nd, until Wednesday, June 3rd, to participate in Kahnawà:ke–Canada Relations (KCR) Main Table discussions. These talks aim to advance the establishment of sectoral tables — particularly in the areas of Registration, Environment, Lands, and Justice.

All Ratitsénhaienhs attending meetings in Ottawa are expected to return to the office on the day following their respective participation.

The Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke wishes to inform the community that all its administrative offices will be closed for Rotiio’ténion Raonenhnísera, Labor Day on Monday, September 7th.

Service Schedule for Labor Day:

  • Recycling & Compost CollectionWill continue as usual – Please place bins curbside by 7am
  • Transfer DepotCLOSED for the day
  • Town GarageCLOSED – All cardboard drop-offs postponed to Tuesday, September 8th

 

All essential services will remain in operation. Regular business hours will resume on Tuesday, September 8th, at 8:30am.
