The Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke wishes to inform the community of Ratitsénhaienhs’ travel schedule for this week.

  • Ratsénhaienhs Paul Rice is in San Diego, California, from Monday, March 30, to Thursday, April 2, 2026, attending the 2026 Indian Gaming Tradeshow & Convention. Rice will be a speaker on the “Sovereign Right to Game” panel as well as attend the 2nd Annual Nation-to-Nation Summit
  • Ietsénhaienhs Melanie Morrison will be in Quebec City on Tuesday, March 31, for the Quebec Native Women unveiling of the MMIWG2S Mapping Project.
  • Ratsénhaienhs David Diabo Ratsénhaienhs David Diabo will be in Toronto on Tuesday, March 31, and Wednesday, April 1, to participate in Iroquois Caucus meetings.
  • Ratsénhaienhs Jeffrey Diabo will also be in Toronto on Tuesday, March 31, and Wednesday, April 1, attending Jay Treaty Border Crossing meetings focused on experience, entry of goods, and a main table session.

The Council appreciates the community’s understanding and will continue to provide updates as needed.

Easter Holiday office closure

Friday, April 3rd & Monday, April 6th, 2026

All administrative offices of the Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke will be closed.

 

Please note the following changes to Waste Management Department services during this period:

 

  • Friday, April 3rd – Administrative offices closed
  • Monday, April 6th – Waste Management services resume as usual; however, there will be no cardboard drop‑offs
  • Monday, April 6th – Transfer Depot will operate with reduced hours, from 8am to 2pm

 

Garbage pickup service will continue through the holiday without interruption.

 

All essential services will remain operational throughout the office closures. Regular administrative office hours will resume on Tuesday, April 7th, at 8:30am.
